Ministry of Health and Family Welfare\u2019s telemedicine initiative, eSanjeevani<\/em>, has crossed six lakh teleconsultations. It took only 15 days to complete the last one lakh consultations. The eSanjeevani<\/em> digital platform has proved its usefulness and easy access for the caregivers and the medical community, and those seeking healthcare services in the times of COVID. States like Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Gujarat run eSanjeevani<\/em> OPD for 12 hours a day and seven days a week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

eSanjeevani<\/em> is accessible to people in 27 States\/UTs across India. The digital platform provides eHealth services through more than 6000 doctors<\/strong> who man 217 online OPDs’<\/strong> inpatient to doctor telemedicine model i.e. eSanjeevaniOPD<\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

States are also extending the reach of specialised health services to the people in smaller towns and rural areas through eSanjeevani<\/em> (AB-HWC) that is operational at around 4000 health and wellness centres linked with over 175 hubs set up at district hospitals and medical colleges. Over 20,000 clinicians and health workers have been on eSanjeevani\u2019s<\/em> two variants. Currently, eSanjeevani<\/em> is recording over 8500 consultations a day.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was on 13th April 2020 the Union Health Ministry rolled out a customized eSanjeevani<\/em> OPD when the OPDs across the country were shut down. The government says it will be implemented in 1,55,000 health and wellness centres under Ayushman Bharat Scheme in Hub and Spoke<\/em> model by December 2022. Currently, eSanjeevani<\/em> AB-HWC is functional in 4,000 health and wellness centres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, Himachal Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Gujarat, Karnataka and Maharashtra are the top 10 States which have registered the highest consultations through eSanjeevani<\/em> and eSanjeevani<\/em> OPD platforms.
